International Trade

International trade acts as a medium communication so free trade spreads and globalism and its values. Thus producing a more strategically and politically hospitable system.

Globalization represents free trade which promotes global economic growth; creates jobs, makes companies more competitive and lowers prices for consumers. International trade provides absolute and relative gains. Such as:

1. Promotes Efficiency in Production

International trade promotes efficiency in production as countries will try to adopt better methods of production to keep costs down in order to remain competitive.

2. More Employment

More employment could be generated as the market for the countries’ goods widens through trade. International trade helps generate more employment through the establishment of newer industries to cater to the demands of various countries.

3. Fosters Peace and Goodwill

International trade fosters peace, goodwill and mutual understanding among nations. Economic interdependence of countries often leads to close cultural relationship and thus avoid war between them.

4. Consumption at Cheaper Cost

International trade enables a country to consume things which either cannot be produced within its borders or production may cost very high. Therefore it becomes cost cheaper to import from other countries through foreign trade. Competition between countries also drives prices down which proves competitions are needed. Thus making products cheaper and more quality.

5. Greater Variety of Goods Available for Consumption

International trade brings in different varieties of a particular product from different destinations. This gives consumers a wider array of choices which will not only improve their quality of life but as a whole it will help the country grow.

6. Reduces Trade Fluctuations

By making the size of the market large with large supplies and extensive demand international trade reduces trade fluctuations. The prices of goods tend to remain more stable.

So creates higher than average prospects for absolute gains so states want to embrace economic interdependence to avoid the need to pursue relative gains.

One of the ways international trade can be possible is through international institutions such as the World Trade Organizations (WTO).

With Globalization via WTO and international trade many developing countries who now have access to our markets and can export cheap goods. Globalization has also been good for Multi-national corporations, there is now a worldwide market for companies and consumers who have access to products of different countries.

Free trade also reduces barriers such as tariffs, value added taxes, subsides and other barriers between nations.

Since we share financial interests, corporations and governments are trying to sort out ecological problems for each other which is a really important thing that it has the potential to make this world a better place to live in and solve some of the deep-seated problems like unemployment and poverty.

It also provides poor countries, through infusions of foreign capital and technology with the chance to develop economically and by spreading prosperity, creates the conditions in which democracy and respect for human rights may flourish. Also Transnational companies investing in installing plants in other countries provide employment for the people in those countries often getting them out of poverty.

Between 1990 and 2010, the number of people living in extreme poverty fell by half as a share of the total population in developing countries, from 43% to 21% — a reduction of almost 1 billion people.

Politic Effects of Globalism

Globalism creates a more friendly and hospitable environment.

First of all globalism promotes human rights which are rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion or any other status. Meaning kind of a protector against someone who is stronger than you or against someone who is trying to control you.

Globalism aims to provides a system where there is more opportunities, more chance, more freedom, more equality and more peace; in short globalism creates the more hospitable and livable system. It makes these possible by

  1. Creates a medium which people or workers can travel and see what’s best best for them and globalism lets them go to the place the person desires which is more beneficial for him and makes possible of the person to start a business where he desire and where it can be most beneficial for him.
  2. With globalism there is a mass communication in the world and this makes possible of people who are trying to get a work or have a career or build up a business get help from people, professionals all around the world or hire workers all around the world which want to work there and for a cheap price.
  3. With globalism what it brings such as the things talked about like traveling anywhere you want or mass communications. This creates a tolerant society because there is exchange of ethnicity and cultures around the world, talk with each other see how they are different or similar, discover new cultures and learn new things and with this people around the world make business or communicate or meet with each other and become tolerant to each other. In short this creates a hospitable and friendly environment.
  4. Globalism also promotes democracy and liberalism which are ideologies supporting human rights and are trying to give the best opportunities and chances to the people like globalism do. Also because these ideologies has the same aims as globalism. Such as more opportunity, more chance, more freedom, more equality and more peace. In short globalism and liberalism are concepts that are similar.

The Rights of the People

We know that in conservative countries sometimes there can be crucial avoiding of human rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of choice, invasion of privacy etc…

But because liberal democracies cares deeply about individuals and their rights are not avoided and thus creating a safer and reliable system where individuals can express their opinions whatsoever or choice to do something as the want.

More Opportunities and Chances

Liberal system focuses on individuals and how their life can be improved and with this aims to gave them more chances and opportunities in their life such as

  1. Few regulations: With less government regulation to inhibit business growth, business will be productive and innovative also having a few restrictions on minimum wage enables companies to set up their wages which makes them competitive in the marketplace.
  2. Government involvement: Liberals ensures government involvement in the conservation of the environment and promote opportunities to the citizens.
  3. Collective security: Having a collective security promotes democracy and free market for people to trade freely.

Freedom, Equality, Peace

Equality

Liberalism is individualistic and each individual’s moral values should be treated equally to moral ideologies of others. The state ensures there are equal opportunities for all regardless of gender, status or age.

Freedom

Liberalism ensures there are few regulations and promoting individual liberty thus providing more freedom to achieve what you want rather than restricting you like-liberal countries.

Peace

Because liberal democracies do not want to go to war with each other, it ultimately provides a formula for transcending realism and fostering international peace.

Impact: With globalism we give people far more chances and opportunities for them to get to places they want. Also as globalism promotes liberalism we are promoting: Human Rights, Freedom, Equality and Peace.

Example: A key factor for explaining democratization is East Asia (Taiwan Hong Kong) in the 1970s and 1980s. Economic liberalization here led to the rapid growth of the middle classes and in turn the rise of social movements concerned with labour exploitation.

Example: The globalization of Vietnam begins 1980 with the open market policy name “socialist-oriented market economy”. Thank to this policy, the economy of Vietnam Bilateral Agreement was signed; this is the very important step for recovery the economic and became the first step to join into World Trade Organization (WTO)

Impact: Our point is that as globalism represents free and international trade it provide absolute and relative gains also helps poor countries to develop and with making trade solving each others problems as well in short without globalism there wouldn’t be this much improvement in the world. This is why the government should regret the rise of anti-global movements.
