Advantages & Disadvantages of Technology
Technology effects our society significantly. It has become an extensive part in our life by bringing so much benefits. Technology improves education, medicine, transportation, entertainment and more. In the current time people cannot imagine their life without technology. Technology seems very beneficial because of its potential of being useful for almost everything. However, at the same time it can bring negative consequences.
There are three benefits of having technology as a part of modern life. Firstly, technology can be used in many different ways to make our lives easier. For example NFC technology NFC can be used in banks and cards companies for using phones as a wallet. By using NFC technology no one need to worry about forgetting and losing money or credit card. Second benefit is safety. For example RFID chips, RFID chips can be used for designate the location. By using this technology pet owner’s can find lost pets easily. A final advantage is technology can be used for extraordinary changes. For example trans-humanism, trans-humanism used for changing a body for positive features with artificial organs. By using this technology people can be stronger, better and faster.
However, there are three serious concerns about the use of technology. Firstly, there are serious concerns about cashless society. For example NFC technology, because it is technological, government can block your technologic wallet easily. This shows that using this technology cause to dispossed money one day. Secondly, there are also serious concerns about privacy. For example RFID chips have owner’s information and the safety issue can also be debunked easily. This shows that using this technology might cause to stolen IDs. A final disadvantage is that trans-humanism can be used for out of purpose. For example government can use this technology to create super soldiers-ultimate human killing machine. This shows that there is a risk of using this technology because of malevolent directors.
In conclusion, technology has several positive and negative affects. Technology can be helpful for people but sometimes it can be used out of purpose. Thats why I think that technology cannot be considered neither as a good thing nor sinister. Technology can be useful or sinister depending the purposes on it.
